I have done research on my Lanning family in Guernsey County, Ohio and have gone to the cemetery - Clearfork Baptist Cemetery and saw the gravestone of Isaac and Martha.Isaac was the younger brother of my 4-great grandfather Robert Lanning who also moved to Guernsey County Ohio.Their parents were Richard Lanning, born 1730 and Julia Ann Miller, born 1732.Isaac and Martha resided in Section 3, Jefferson Township, Guernsey County part of what is now Salt Fork State Park.In compiling data for my family history (1991) I corresponded with numerous Lanning researchers throughout the US and Canada, one of whom sent me information on a Reuben Lanning, born in 1817 in Pennsylvania who married Elizabeth Licetor in 1839 and who lived in Guernsey County, Ohio. Some of the grandchildren of Reuben and Elizabeth moved to Tennessee. We have no proof as yet that Isaac and Reuben were related.I haven't looked in the roots forum suggested by the other person who replied to you to see what they have to say.
