I have a Wesley Lankford, born about 1775 and died about 1840.I believe he had a son named, James Lankford, born about 1810 in Stokes County, NC who married a Ruey ??? who was born about 1808.They had 5 children that I know of: William, born about 1830 in Stokes County, NC; Josiah (Joseph) D, born about 1832 in Stokes County, NC who marrried a Sarah (Sally) Ann Smith, born about 1832 in Stokes County, NC; James, born about 1835 in Stokes County, NC; Betsy J, born about 1843 in Stokes County, NC; and Andrew Lankford, born about 1847 in Stokes County, NC.
By the way, my line is through Josiah (Joseph) D Lankford and his wife Sarah (Sally) Ann Smith who were married 1 Aug 1853 in Stokes County, NC.Theyhad 8 children: Nancy Jane, born about 1855; Margaret S, born about 1856; Letitia, born about 1857; William A, Born about 1858; Peter F, born about 1859; Josiah Jr, born about 1862; Oliva D, born about 1866; (all the preceeding were born in Stokes County, NC) James Henry, born 24 Oct 1869 at Maiden Spring, Tazewell County, Va, died 23 Feb 1956 at Meadows of Dan, Patrick County, Va married 13 Feb 1888 at Richlands, Tazewell County, Va Mary Jane White, born 25 Jan 1872 at Richlands, Tazewell County, Va, died 16 May 1953 at Meadows of Dan, Patrick County, NC (these are my maternal great, grandparents); and Wallace, born 1871 in Tazewell County, Va.
