In a Granville County Deed of Gift from Thomas Lanier to his son, William, written 2 Nov 1790, there is mention of Thomas Lanier’s wife, Judith. It is known that Thomas Lanier’s first wife was Elizabeth Hicks and his wife at the time of his death was Frances. Perhaps the name, Judith, is a clerk's transcription error.
Does anyone know about a wife named Judith? Does anyone know when Thomas Lanier married Frances, said to be Clanton?
