I'm looking for information on Joseph Smith Lanier (b. 1847) & Nancy Jane Bennett (b. 1852) and their children. They were living in Chambers Co., AL in 1870, Randolph Co., AL in 1880 and Monroe Co., MS in 1900. Children include Louisana "Lula", John W., Thomas J., Emma, George W., Joseph F., Hattie E., James D., & Lilly Vashti. According to 1900 census, Nancy was the mother of 14 children, 10 living at that time. Joseph was the son of Wm. Washington Lanier and Charlotte Jackson. Nancy was the daughter of John Bennett and Martha Gamble. In 1900, Mattie & Sally Bennett (listed as sister-in-law & niece) were living with them.
