HELLO,
I need an experienced Lanier researcher's help. I've been working on my LENOIR line for 26 years. I am a descendant of Thomas LENOIR, SR. born c 1700 died 1765 Edgecombe Co. NC. He and his wife, Mourning (Crawley) Lenoir raised their family in Brunswick Co.,VA before moving to NC.
I am very familiar with all of the branches from Thomas Lenoir, Sr. on down and do not get them confused with the LANIER family, which is of course entirely separate.

However, our LENOIR researchers are split on who is the father of Thomas Lenoir, Sr. (c1700-1765)

Some argue for ISAAC LENOIR of NY and SC and others for a JOHN LENOIR of VA. No one seems to have any proof that there was a JOHN LENOIR residing in VA. except he is listed in the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia.

I found the following wills and deeds and wondered if any LANIER researchers have proven to their satisfaction that this is their JOHN LANIER.
IT WOULD SAVE ME A LOT OF WASTED TIME IF SOMEONE KNEW THE BELOW MENTIONED JOHN LEONAR OR JOHN LANYER AND HAD CONNECTED THEM TO THE LANIER FAMILY:I believe it is a misspelling of one of the names. Thank you for looking at this.

Does anyone know if this is JOHN LANIER?? Thank you.
