Hi Norma,
I can't remember if I've already e-mailed you this info.If I have, please forgive my poor memory.I'm a VOWELL researcher and the LANIER line ties into that line.
Lutimus W. LANIER (Aug. 14, 1838 - July 13, 1925 - Tombstone transcription, Obion Chapel Cemetery) m. 1.) Araminta W. VOWELL (1840 - 1876) before 1859 in Weakley Co., TN.Children of Lutimus and Araminta:
1.Virginia T., b. c1859
2.Lawrence Napoleon, (1861 - 1917)
3.Cathrine A., b. c1863
4.J. L. (female), b. c1865
5.Harriet L., b. c1869
6.Nola M.,1873
Lutimus married 2.)Effie P. (TRANTHAM?) FOWLER?, b. March 1867 (census data) May 27, 1890.Children of Lutimus and Effie:
1.A. R. FOWLER (male), b. Aug 1884 (I'm assuming this was a son by Effie's first marriage. He is shown in the 1900 Weakley Co. TN Census as a son in the household of Lutimus and Effie.)Do you know if Effie had a first marriage to a FOWLER?
2.L. Bonnie LANIER, (Male) (June 1891 - 1967); Buried: Eastside Cemetery, Martin, Weakley Co., TN; m. Flora UNK
3.M. Tommie LANIER, (Female) (June 26, 1891 - March 20, 1964) Buried Gardner Cemetery, Weakley Co., TN.
NOTE:In census, June 1891 is given for birthdates of Bonnie and Tommie, so I'm assuming they must have been twins.
4.Curdine/Curdeen LANIER, (male)b. c1902
On the Weakley Co. TN site at TNGenWeb.org, there is (or was)alarge group photo of students, teachers, and some parents at Old Salem School 1914 - 1915.The group includes Eurdeen Ranier (I'm pretty sure this was Curdine/Curdeen LANIER as I've never come across the name, Ranier, in Weakley Co. Census in that era.), Bonnie LANIER, and Mrs. Effie LANIER. Several of my VOWELL, CLINARD and DUKE relatives were also in this photo. If you haveother information (corrections or additions) for any of the children of Lutimus W. LANIER, or his wife, Effie,or if you have questions about anything I've posted, please let me know.I hope some of this helps with your research.
