Thanks for your reply.

I agree that we have a pretty good tree for the main line of the Langtons of Langton by partney/spilsby, we have managed to find a number of other early langtons in the area, probably younger sons or juinor branches, but its very hard to link these in to the main tree reliably. But regarding Stephen and his family, there doesnt seem to be much evidence of them coming from the same family. In fact the land mentioned in their wills is close to Langton-by-Wragby. Now I hold the view that the two Langton families may be related, but my father believes them to be seperate, and makes a pretty good arguement for that too.

Stephens other brother was Walter, not William.

What i was hoping for in asking this question was to see if anyone had any new information or specific detail regarding them beyond what i am aware of. Its very difficult to trace them as it was so long ago, but i would think some info must exist somewhere. Certainly there are loads and loads of Stephens sermons, so documents related to him do exist, though what i am hopeing for is something more specific on his family.
Im convinced there is more information out there somewhere, if someone can find it.
