Hi Richard,
Nice to be in contact with you.
William langton, you date him b.ca 1650. Is this an approximate date?
He married Elizabeth Gibbs on 11 Aug. 1679 in Speen, Nr Newbury.
William's son John was born 1681, and married Amy Denly in Jan 1706.
John's son Joseph was born in 1722 in Speen and Married Rachel Smith in Jan 1745
Joseph's son John was born 1754 in Speen and he married Mary Stroud in Oct 1780
One of their children was indeed Charlotte Langton, and she was born in 1786 in Speen. I dont have details of who she married or her children. If you have them can you share them with me?
Charlotte had 5 brothers and 1 sister. Let me know if you dont have details of them and i will provide them. I decend from Charlotte's brother Thomas.
Their brother William had the son Issac who you mention was Charlotte's nephew. From what I know, alot of the langtons of this generation and the next left for Utah. Ours didnt however. Did your ancestors stay in England or did they move to Utah?
I didnt have Charlottes date of birth, only the year, so its good to know that now. Thank you.
My father and I plan to visit the records office in Reading as birth records for Newbury area should be there. We hope to find birth dates for William Langton, and Elizabeth Gibbs around 1650-1660, and from that link to other Langtons we know about slightly before then, whose pedigree we have traced back along way to around the Norman conquest.
Best wishes
Joel
