I am not familiar with your Edward but Edward is certainly a family name with my Langtons. Francis is also a well used name in my family tree. My Langtons appear in Ontario in the 1830's. There is evidence that they came by way of Quebec from England. Feel free to contact me if you feel there may be a connection here.
