Dear Jim , I'm another one who always believed that Stephen Langton was an ancestor. What i know is this - My line goes back unbroken to Osbert de Langton in the twelfth century. He had 2 sons Matthew and Osbert. I'm under the impression that they were in the Spilsby area (or what would become Langton-by-Spilsby). Langtons of Horncastle and Wragby would have all been kinsmen wouldn't they ? Stephen Langton of Langton-by-Wragby had brothers Simon and Walter but I don't have any more info. What do you make of all this ?

Regards
Andrew Langton-Joy
