Sarah Langston b. 1832 MO m. 1848 in Rush, TX to G W Wolfe
Message body
Would anyone know anything about a Sarah Langston b. about 1832 in MO who married a George W. Wolfe in 1848 in Rusk Co., TX.
I do NOT know that she was connected to the Langstons of Arkansas area - BUT Sara's husband had a younger sister who was born in AR - so just a clue maybe.
We know she is not the Sarah Emaline Langston who married the Dean.
The Wolfe mother would have been in AR in 1837 when Elisabeth Wolfe was born. Two older brothers, George W. Wolfe, husband of the Sarah, and William S. Wolfe were both born in TN. The two younger children, Elisabeth and William were living in the household of a George Walters and Susan in TX for the 1850 census in east Texas near Rusk.Do not know if the Wolfe and Walters families were connected.
George W. and Sarah Langston Wolfe had these children:Hiram A. b. 1853; Sabra Samatha Clementine b. 1853; Green A. b. 1856; George N. b. 1857; Sarah Rebecca Jane b. 1859; William B. b. 1863.
Sarah Langston Wolfe died about 1865 in Burnet, TX.
If someone had Langstons living in MO about that time period and has a Sarah in the family and it could possibly be our Sarah - please let us know.We do know that this Wolfe family out of TN is NOT related to the Wolf (note difference in spelling)family of Baxter County as that is proven by DNA - but manyresearchers out there are mixing this George W. Wolfe into that family and it has caused that WOLFE family to get incorrect information. This George W. Wolfe did marry a second time to a Rebecca Harwell, who was the widow of a Rev. Harwell and a neighbor- in Hill County, TX, following the death of Sarah in 1865.I think that is what caused the link to the Wolf family of AR - the Harwell connection.
Thanks, Dorothy Boynton
