You're confusing several Hiram Langstons here. The Hiram Langston b. 27 Nov. 1807 (NOT 1808) in SC who married Mary Curry is an entirely different individual than the individual who married Mary Phelps and fathered Hiram Greene Langston in 1847. Hiram Langston (b. 1807, SC) was still married to Mary Curry and having children by her at that time; in fact, Mary Curry survived him and lived until 31 March 1878. This Hiram Langston (b. 1807, SC) did NOT have a son named Hiram Greene Langston, and he never spent any time in Pope Co. Hiram (b. 1807, SC) and his family are listed in the 1850 census in Coles Co., IL with NO son named Hiram or Greene, and his wife Mary's age and birthplace are consistent with Mary Curry's data.
The Hiram Langston who married Mary Hobson is yet another entirely different individual. He was Hiram Curry Langston (son of Willis Barton Langston and Amarilla C. Anglin), born 30 Aug. 1864, Palestine, Anderson Co., TX; died 12 Sept. 1948, Palestine, Anderson Co., TX; buried in Fields Chapel Cemetery, Anderson Co., TX. His wife Mary C. Hobson was born 20 Aug 1871, AZ; died 22 May 1952; buried in Fields Chapel Cemetery.
Sorry to point this out, but I'd hate to see you wasting your time researching the wrong Langston line. If you'd like the documentation I have to support the statements above, please email me privately at [email protected].
