Geoffrey Langley (c. 1577 - 1624) of Colchester?

Regarding the 1999 post about Anne Langly, her parents were Geoffrey Langley (c. 1577 - 1624) and Anne Carter (Jan 1575 -), the daughter of William Carter. Goeffrey Langley was a prosperous merchant and alderman in Colchester. He seems to have left a substantial estate and is found with armorial bearings in the Visitations of Essex (http://books.google.com/books?id=hqwKAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA433). Otherwise, he seems to have been the product of spontaneous generation.

If anyone can find any documentation of his ancestry, I would love to see it.
