I have just found this information in a book, Shawnee Heritage, by Noel Schutz and Don Greene. The following info was in it. I would like comments and your thoughts. The word "metis" was used by the author to mean that the person had some white blood. 834. Langley, Uckteeyah aka Wakteeyah-Creek-Metis, boen about 1790- died about 1816- likely daughter of Noah Langley- white & Annie Self-Creek-metis, sister of Wokteeyah Langley/85-(3rd wife of Sequoyah), 1st wife 1815 (Tn- Ar?) of Teesey Gist/88 mother of George Gist (3) /1815, Richard Gist (3) /1816, Joseph Gist (1)/1817, Wahlenetah Gist/1818, Wahlahoo Gist/1821, Chuwanoskee Gist/1822 & Nancy Gist 1823-all 13/64th Chalakatha-Pekowi-Creek-Cherokee-metris. 835- Langley, Wohteeyah aka Utiyuwokteeyah Langley Sequoah-Creek-metis born about 1785-died after 1804- likely daughter of Noah Langley- white & Annie Self-Creek-metis, 3rd wife about 1798 of Sequoyah- George Gist/159, sister of Uckteeyah Langley/90-(1st wife of step-son Teesey Gist/88, mothers of daughters Oolootsa Gist(2) 99 & Gooneki Gist(2)/1800- both 9/32nd Chalakatha-Pekowi-Creek-Cherokee-metris Notify Administrator about this message?
