Jessie Langley was my great-aunt, she was the daughter of James Layfette and his first wife Alice Early, James was born in McMinn County, Tennessee July 1854, he was the son of Reuben and Frances Landers, they were married in Monroe County Tennessee in 1849, Reuben was the son of Johnanth and Sarah Oldem LONGLEY, Johnanthan was the son of William and Mary Ann Oldam.
James Layfette is buried with his second wife Mary Byrley at Mt. Zion Church in Loudon, Tennessee. Jessie was probably born in Monroe County. I have some information on the Milsaps family, send me your mailing address and I'll send you I have, which dates back to 1761 in New Jersey I live in McMinn County, Tenn.
