Try
Matthew Langley. Born 1774 in North Carolina. First wife was born 1784, probably in Ashe Co., NC. She died before 1830 in Ashe Co. Her name is unknown, They married in 1798 in Surry (sp?) Co., NC. They had nine children.

BTW, Lydia was half Native American, said to be a very pretty girl of 18 when Heland married her. I haven't been able to find her tribe or any details on her descent yet. I could guess Cherokee prior to the Trail of Tears, but it would be nice to find something factual.

PS any follow-ups are best here, since my given email address is likely to detonate any moment... I give it out to people, but I don't put it on web sites as a policy to reduce spam.
