Knowing this is an older posting, I thought I'd just toss this into the mix in hopes it will be helpful to either yourself or others researching Langley. While searching the census records for my BROWN family of Fayette, Campbell & Douglas Cos. in GA there are families that appear to be associated with them in one respect or another.I'm trying to tie in other surnames to get a better lead on the ancestry of our line.More clues lead to more information.
So, with this in mind I offer the following:
1850 Campbell Co., GA CensusRoll 62 Book 1
pg. 418B
224/224
Langley, Lovinia 67600 GA
William[?24] GA
Lovinia 17 GA
Elijah[?26] GA
225/225
Langley, John B.35 NC/SC?
Mary Ann 22 SC
Elizabeth 7 GA
William 5 GA
John [?I.} 3 GA
Flora Ann 2 GA
226/226
Langley, James [Hoyt?] 20farmerGA
Etta N. 25 NC
John I. 5/12 GA
1860 Census Campbell Co., GA Roll 113 Book 1
pg 224
Has Lovinia's & John's households
Besides the apparent association with BROWN the surname MAYFIELD seems to be involved.
Would enjoy hearing from anyone interested in these surnames in Georgia.
