She was born in Portland on April 18, 1938 the daughter of Burton and Barbara (Dandeneau) Langill. She was educated in Portland Schools. Joanne enjoyed reading, bowling, gambling and especially spending time with her children
and grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband Edmund Needham of Lisbon Falls, sons David
Needham and his wife Shannon of Waterboro, James Needham and wife Diane of New
Gloucester, Matthew Needham of California, sisters Norma Douglas of Florida, Beverly
Crooks of Ohio, Marcia Rawson of Auburn, brothers James Langill of Westbrook, David
Langill of Poland, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

James D. Langill, 69 1939-2009 WESTBROOK -- James D. Langill, 69, of Westbrook, passed away on
Friday, April 24, 2009, of heart failure. He was born on Oct. 27, 1939, in Portland, to Barbara Pennell
and Burton Langill. Jimmy was an avid sportsman and sports fan. His hobbies included coin collecting,
hunting and fishing, bird watching, reading, music, and watching sports, especially football and baseball.
He was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed music by
Johnny Cash, Elvis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and all country music. He enjoyed spending time
with his family and he was a generous man who liked to donate money for a good cause.
He is survived by his daughter, Michele Langill and her companion Bradley Fisher of Lisbon Falls, sons,
Timothy Langill of Queens, N.Y., and Todd Langill of Tampa, Fla.; and his beloved grandchildren, Tori
and Keith Emory of South Portland, Chloe DiBetta and Ayden Fisher of Lisbon Falls, Britney Langill of
Orlando, Fla., Serena Ferreira of Fairfield, and Joseph Thibodeau of Winslow. His great-grandchildren
are Tianna Atienza and Kameron and Kobe Emory of South Portland. He is also survived by his sisters,
Beverly Crooks of Dayton, Ohio and Norma Douglas of Florida; his brother David Langill who resides
in Florida with his wife Pauline; and his ex-wife Barbara Ratliff of Zephyrhills, Fla. He was predeceased
by two sisters, Joanne Needham and Marcia Rawson. There will be a private memorial held by his
family at his home on Sunday, May 24, 2009; all family and friends are welcomed to attend. He was a
kind, generous man with a big heart and unique sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by his loving
family and will be forever in our hearts. Published in the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday
