I don't know if this is your family but it sounds interesting and worth a second look.

Married by License March 11, 1873 in Windsor, Hants County, NS (Presbyterian)Rev. J. L . Murdoch officiating
Lewis Langille, bachelor, age 26, carpenter, residing in River John, Pictou Co.,
Born River John, son of Robert and Mary
Married to Amelia Turner, spinster, age 18, residing in Parrsboro, dau of Charles and Mary
Witnesses: George William Langille and Maggie Armstrong

Another interesting marriage is in River John, Oct. 3, 1872, Presbyterian
Robert Langille, widower married to Elizabeth Langille, spinster
No other information given. Whether this is the above Robert is hard to say.

In the 1881 Census available at
www.familysearch.org
there are no less than 5 Robert Langillsí in just the River John census district of Pictou Co. From the ages probably at least 3 generations, most claiming Swiss heritage

One particularly interesting family group from above is
Mrs. Elizabeth Langill, age 39, widow, Head, Farmer, Presbyterian, born USA
Solomon B. Langill, age 7 born USA,
Robert A. Langill, age 4, born USA
Could be the widow of the Robert above
Hope this helps
Burdette
