Can't help you with your actual query, but I'm an Irish Langan, born in Dublin but my father was born in Ballycastle and we all go there once or twice a year. The town is still full of Langans, the local GAA football ground is Tom Langan Park (a legendary player for Mayo many years ago).
Ballycastle is quite a spot to visit, I'd recommend it but don't expect a cossetted tourist experience. It's untouched and very scenic.
