I have found on the 1881 Durham census the following that may help you:-Patrick aged 50 born in Ireland, address 55 Engine Row, Sherburn, Durham, labourer. Bridget his wife aged 40 born Ireland. Son Patrick aged 19 coal miner born in Ireland. Bridget his daughter aged 13 born Ireland. Thomas his son aged 11, scholar, born Shadforth, Durham. John a son aged 9 a scholar, born Shadforth, and Joseph another son, aged 7, scholar, born Shadforth Durham. All were living at 55 Engine Row, Sherburn, Co Durham. Hope this helps you. You should also be able to find them on the 1891 Durham census maybe. Janice.
