I know it's been years, and we talked via email a bit way back, but for the benefit of others here:
We have a match! Walter Franklin Lanthripp III was called "Butch" by everyone who knew him. William Clyde Lanthripp goes by his middle name, Clyde. Thomas Eugene Lanthripp was called Tommy by pretty much everybody until he was an adult, when he switched to being called Tom (though his older relatives still called him "Tommy").
Margie Worley raised the 3 boys after Walter Franklin Lanthripp Jr. and Freida "Peanut" Davis were divorced, due to some...well...lack of stability in the Lanthripp household, and both parents' propensity to spend a lot of time in establishments known for their loud music, pool tables, and strong drinks. Margie was married to Eugene Worley, who was Freida Davis' half-brother. But that's another family tree altogether. Margie Ann Worley was my "Mamaw Margie" and I spent many a weekend at her house when I was a kid.
Walter Franklin Lanthripp III (my "uncle Butch") died in 1972 in a car accident in Soddy-Daisy, TN. Thomas Eugene Lanthripp, my father, was living in LaPlace, LA in the late 80s, and was killed on January 21, 1991 on the Luling-Destrehan Bridge over the Mississippi River, on his way to work. William Clyde broke his back in either 1976 or 1977, I can't remember which, and has been a paraplegic since. He lived in a house trailer on Mamaw Margie's land until her death, then moved back in with Freida "Peanut" Davis in Hixson, TN (a few miles from Soddy-Daisy) until her death a couple of years ago, when he inherited her house. He still lives there.
Walter Franklin "Frank" Lanthripp did have a brother named James. Everyone called him Jimmy. Jimmy was a great big man. He lived in/near NYC in the 50s and drove down to FL every year to visit Jackie Arvazine's family in a Renault Dauphine, stopping on the way to visit his family in TN.
My sister, Sheri Christine Lanthripp (now Freeman), and I are the 2 children of Thomas Eugene Lanthripp and Debra Jean Roberts.
I'd love to correspond with you again...sorry for dropping off the face of the planet in 2002; I was going through a rough time and had to kind of retreat into my shell for a while. My email address is [email protected]
