Just wanted to say thanks for the responses and to Ted, thanks for the site referrals. The Murah site was most interesting, but, like Gloria, I had problems with the other site you mentioned.I wasn't looking for anyone in particular, but was just wondering about this story. Thanks again.
BTW, the connection of Landrum to our family is through William Landrum's daughter Amanda Jane Mourning Landrum born in Miller county, Missouri in 1837.According to what we know about her, she first married Augustus Benson and they had a son, Reuben. This was in 1852, then, Augustus seems to have disappeared and there is a family bible record that states Amanda married an "unknown" Austin.Well, I had a John Austin who married an Amanda "Unkown" and through various other checking, etc (too long to post here, but more than willing to send stuff to anyone interested), it was determined that this is most probably, Amanda's "Unknown" Austin. If there is anyone out there who could give me more information on Amanda and her family (father- William mother-Polly (or Mary) Mulkey) it would be appreciated.
Thanks again.
