Timothy Landrum s/o Joseph Landrum I
Hi,
Does anyone have any information on Timothy Landrum (besides the following) son of Joseph Landrum I b. 1730 son of John Landrum II b. 1700 son of John Landrum I b. ca 1665?According to Shedd's book he went to GA with his father and brothers and did not go to the Tombigbee Territory with the rest of the family.Timothy shows up in Jasper Co., GA according to the land lotteries of 1821 and 1827.I'm looking for any information on his children - if any.
I've been to Jasper Co., GA - and went to a church called Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale, Jasper Co., GA.There is a historical marker at this church that says, "Timothy Landrum (Revolutionary War soldier) gave 10 acres of land, one mile west of here, where Providence Church was first erected."This church was constituted in 1810 according to the marker and moved to it's new location - Shady Dale in 1832 where it still is.
I'm guessing this is all about the same Timothy but don't know for sure.Shedd's book also mentions not to confuse this Timothy Lanrum with the one that served in the Continental Line in NC (I have no idea what that means). If anyone has any further information about all this please contact me either direct or through the forum. Thanks!Terri Landrum
