I hope this finds you doing well.
I am a decedent of Indiana Francis, I believe she would be my great, great grandmother. And Kinchen Adams would be my great grandfather. I wanted to know more about the story of Indiana Francis killing a “white-man” soldier and being granted clemency from President.
I wanted to know why “white-man” was highlighted. Usually, during those days the race would only be highlighted if the victim was of a different race than the alleged perpetrator. Particularly, if the alleged perpetrator was of a non-white race. What race was Indiana Francis?
Yes, she did live to be very old, in fact her tombstone reads she was born on 26 Apr 1836 and died on 26 Feb 1941 which means she live to be 105 years old.
