Christine,,

You missed my point !!!!! The Landrum's are not BLACK --they are Scotish from Scotland.. The Freedman rolls will not HELP you at all... There were different races treated as slaves--- not just Blacks.

When the British Crown tried to destroy the Highlanders of Scotland--- they took prisoners ,,mostly heads of households and gave them 3 choices----fidelity to the crown;beheading ; or come to the new world(north America) as slaves . If you track your ancestors back far enough they all came here as slaves in some form or other. Either endentured or as regular slaves(prisoners). Endentured had a bad stigma to it-- you basicly sold yourself to come to the New World and had to work for 7 years to become free. And had to withstand the abuse---- horrible abuse ..

You need to track and find a link with the Landrums from Va to Georgia .Don't worry about the ROLLS right now-- besides if you do think u have a name match on the ROLLS-- you have to send to Fort Worth to retieve the actual application then and only then will you know if you indeed have a ancestor on the ROLLS

Chris
