Hello Christine This is Christine answering you.. I too am stuck on a Thomas W. Landrum .. The Landrum name came down from my grandmother on my mother's side. I have traced the Landrum line for me back to 1832 to Oglethorpe Co., Ga. The tribe we are looking at is Cherokee---. You will find the Landrum name on all of the Cherokee rolls up to the removal roll of 1835 then they go to the Dawes Roll. The Landrums came to GA from Va to take a allotment from the land grab(lottery) from land stolen from the Cherokee. The original spelling for Landrum was Lendrum and we go back to the last KING of Scotland.. We were brought here as SLAVES of the KING of England. We had 3 choices swear fiedility to the King or be beheaded as traitors of the Crown or be shipped here as slaves for the NEW WORLD. We also have a town names after us--Landrum, S.C. Hope to hear from you soon Chris Notify Administrator about this message?
