An abstract of William Hood Jr’swill written in 1821, admitted to probate in Lunenburg county in 1823, mentions wife Martha. Also mentioned are daughters Martha Hood, Susannah Bates and Nancy Landrum.Bell’s Old Free State (p 443) shows Lunenburg county minister Joel Johns filed a marriage return for James Landrum and Nancy Hood on July 7, 1808.
As I mentioned in message #1849, Samuel Landrum’s will, filed in Lunenburg in 1807, shows his sisters Nancy and Polly both married to Hood’s.He also lists a sister Elizabeth.
Thus, while I do not really have any idea which Elizabeth Landrum married Benjamin Hood in 1816 in Washington County, it would seem that Samuel Landrum’s sister Elizabeth might be a good candidate.
A remaining question is which Hood married Samuel Landrum’s sister Polly?
As for coincidence, my ancestor James Landrum (not the same James Landrum mentioned above) purchased land in Kentucky in the 2nd decade of the 19th century, the nearest settlement called Hardin’s.That area later became Hardinsburg, in Breckenridge County, Kentucky.
