My LANDRUM roots
This is my first time posting a message to this list. I have just found it and I am glad to find so many Landrums in one place! This is not typical with me as I shall explain. First, my name is Robert Lee Landrum Jr. and I was born in New Albany, Indiana 2/10/71. My parents are Robert Lee Landrum Sr. 12/3/50 of New Albany, Indiana and Jeorlene (Short) Landrum 7/31/50 of Whitesburg, Kentucky. I have one sibling. A brother named Shelby Edward Landrum 1/6/79 of New Albany, Indiana.
When my father was 14 months old, he was taken away by the welfare department and given up for adoption. As a result, much of my knowledge of my Landrum roots stem from only one document; my father's birth certificate. On this document, I know of the names of his parents. But beyond that, I am lost and I need help. This is what I know.

He died around 1966 in New Albany and he was born sometime in the first decade of this century. My grandmother's name was Virginia Lee (Landon) Landrum and she died in 1993. Her place of birth was listed as Ohio and she was born in the 1920s.

And sadly, I cannot even find my gandfather's grave. When he died of TB, he was buried in a paulper's grave without a marker. Now the site of the grave yard is part of a community park! All signs of his existance is gone.
