Marlene,
So happy to hear of your big family reunion. And glad to hear that you have a region to research in. Unfortunately, I have had no luck finding parents for my Cecilia. She married a Pierre Laplante and that marriage probably took place in Clinton county @ 1822/23. Even the Catholic church records are very schetchy for that time and place. The region was an outpost and missionary priest came from various churches in PQ to minister to small flocks. later in time my Pierre and Cecilia were listed as godparents but the key parents for them is not recorded anywhere I've looked. I fear it will be a very long process. The common ground seems to be either Riviere Ouelle, Kamouska or Notre Dame, Ste Hyacinthe. Both are very large areas and the only thing I have for confirmation is Pierre's age which made his birth in 1796. Still, I don't know if that is accurate. My relatives are notorious for inaccuracies of birth records. Maybe someday I can add my family line in but for now I'm still searching around to find out where they belong...best regards
