I knew Josephine was the daughter of Joseph & Maud. And she was shown in the 1930 Silver Lake census.I found out she was married by accidentally coming across her name in the obituary section when I was searching for the Fowler surname. That section is on the 'Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library' site (google it).Click on 'CATALOG', then 'Community Resources', then 'Obituary Index'.
Once I found her married name, I checked 'Find A Grave' and found her headstone with her husband's name (but her husband had not yet been buried there). I googled his name and found a notice from 2005, that said he was celebrating his 90th birthday in Grantville, KS. I searched the phone book for any Landis in Grantville & found one, whom I called. It was his son & I learned that Harry Landis was still living there in 2008. I was told Harry's first son, Harry Lyle Landis (1936-1995), was buried in Silver Lake.
Harry's son did not mention a son named Richard.I searched the 1930 census for all Landis families in Shawnee county & might have found your Richard, born abt 1925. 2 sisters are shown, Frances & Dorothy. His parents, Floyd M & Josephine ('F' or 'T'- it's hard to make out on the original census) Landis, were living in the same area as Harry M Landis.I found mention of Josephine's obit:
Topeka Capital Journal, 2/27/1984, page 16
Obituary of JOSEPHINE T. LANDIS
Abstracts:
b. 9/11/1898 d. 2/26/1984
Spouse-Floyd Landis d. 6/16/1972
You could contact the library for a copy of the obituary. It might mention her son & state in which area he then lived.
