Dear Artemio:

My name is Jose A. Landin Jr. I am from Corpus Christi, Texas though I live in Houston. I am intrigued that you stated your ancestors may have come from France. My father is Armando Garcia Landin. His father is Felix Landin Jr. My great-grandfather is Felix Landin Sr. My great-grandfather settled his family in Galveston. After a divorce, he later lived and died in Mexico. My grandfather related a story that said either his grand-father or great-grandfather Landin came to Mexico with the General Miramon's French Army during the 1860s. I have no information to verify it, but I grew up hearing that.

Artemio, do you have any information about Landins coming to Mexico with the French Occupying Army? If so, can you shed any light as to how these French Landins came to the United States.
