Although I am not related to Lancons, my gr-gr-gr grandmother, maiden name Curtis was first married to a Serpas. He died in the Civil War leaving her with two children. She then married a Lancon. She is shown as widowed in the 1900 New Orleans Census with the following children:
Louis b. 1870
Mary b. 1874
Katie b. 1880
Madaline b. 1877
and her son Fred Serpas, age 42 was also living with her at the time.
She later married an Aragon and these children must have been adopted because they all subsequently went by the last name of Aragon.
Does anyone know anything about Louis Lancon from New Orleans?
Thanks!
