Hello Professor Lampton,
I just finished reading about 90% of your history postings.
I am interested in a James Lampton who was living in eastern KY in 1850. Carter county KY census. (James Lampton age 59, Susan 58 and Robert age 30. He is the only Lampton that is noted as head of household in that county and also in nine other eastern KY counties as well.
This James Lampton family appears to be allied with the Riggs. Plum, and Armes families of Carter KY...And the Plums and Armes were allied with Wilburns.
I noted that you made a reference to an Armes family...I feel certain this is the same Armes line..
It is believed (but not proven) that Elizabeth Plum Wilburn . b 1828 in OH but living in Carter KY in 1850 m Robert Lampton, son of James Lampton.
Do you have any opinions?
