Malinda A. Lampton,4th child of Robert Catlett Lampton & Mary Cliser, was born Jan. 17,1828 in Shenandoah Co.,Va. & Mard. to Noak Hoskinson Nov.27,1847,Lisking Co.,Ohio
(ALSO her older brother Wm.Peter Lampton had married Phebe Hoskinson 4/24/1849 in Licking Co.,Ohio).
This family had moved (R.C.L.) from Va. to Ohio in the early years of the 1800's. In the years following the Louisians Purchase in 1802, the infant United States of America was rapidly expamding into the area west of the Appalachian Mountains. New states were admitted into the union, the argrements were whether or not they would be free states or slave states. All these events were were problems in the 1850' and finally led up to the "War between the states." and culminated in the "Proculation Doctrine" when AbeLincoln freed the slaves.
Among the papers I have is one which lists Lixking zcounty Ohio deeds in which many of the children of R.C.Lampton. One of them dated 12 Oct. 1854 was from Noah Hoskinson and Malinda A.,his wife of Clark County,Illinois.
I have also found the same thing for three of R.C.L. dauhterss who married Gutridge boys. Good Hunting !Doc Lampton.
