In an 1810 Washington County New York Census in a town called Thurman, an Abraham Lamphier is cited there. Some Lamph*** can not be found readily in the census. Abraham has a Reuben Lamphier living in Thurman as well. In this county, in the town of Greenwich, there is an Amos Lamphear, William and Arnold Lamphier (that seems strange, but the US Census taker made the spelling of the surnames different, Lamphear and Lamphier). Probally, many ancestry can be more easily found crossing the eastern USA at some time during there lifetime, and my ancestry has traveled about (I don't know how easily) alot! The life then will remain a mystery for me, because some of my ancestors went out west then back-tracked east and then headed in directions you wouldn't believe.
