I’d like to learn more about my gr-gr grandmother, Anna Bernardina Lampe who emigrated from the Grandduchy of Oldenburg, Germany. She was married in 1859 in Clinton Co. Iowa and later moved to and remarried in Savanna, Illinois. This is what I know about her family: Father: Bernard Heinrich Lampe (b. abt. 1814, d. 1881 in Carroll Co., Illinois) Mother: Bernardina Shaeffer (b. abt. 1820, d. ?) Their known children (all born in Germany): Anna Bernardina (1842-1911); m. Johann Hebinck Johann (abt. 1844-?); m. Martha and had at least 7 children Heinrich (abt. 1846-?); m. Anna Wachenheim Margaretha (abt. 1848-?) Bernard Johann (1850-1933); m. Emma Jordan Carl (Charles) (1858-1939); m. Pauline Ratche The family immigrated in several groups at different times: Anna in 1858, Bernard Sr. and wife, along with children Margaretha, Bernard and Carl in 1862, Johann and his family in 1866; Heinrich may have arrived in 1867. Most of the family members first lived in Iowa and later moved, in about 1870, to Washington Township in Carroll County, Illinois. Most left the Savanna area soon after 1880 but a few remained. Does anyone know more about this family? Tom Notify Administrator about this message?
