I don't know where the origin came from about the Powhattan Indian marrying into the Lamp family, but I remember my grandma telling me this years ago. She said she had Indian in her and also the name of the family member that married her. Since I was a child I didn't pay attention to details. This was told to me in the middle 1940's. I have seen no documentation except for hearing it from the older folks. My Grandmother is the daughter of Nancy Jane (Givens) Lamp and W. A. Lamp.
