Jill, Thanks for your response. Additional info re: my Thomas > born c1841 to William, mothers name unknown; At Thomas' marriage in 1868 William lived in townland Lismurnaghan and is shown as a weaver along with son Thomas. Not enough info to determine any match up > just more clues. To confuse the issue even more, another William Lamont appears in 1901 census for townland Moboy, Portglenone parish, at age 66 would have been born c1835, right in the time mix we are both working. This William's wife in 1901 is Grissella Gamble, the widow of William McGrandle, a probable (but not proven) sibling or cousin to my Thomas Lamont's wife Hessy McGrandle. Fun!
