Lamberson Research Notes from NY and NJ archives
Following are notes made by my cousin several years ago when he visited the archives of New York and New Jersey researching leads on Lamberson families.I hope these notes will be of help to someone.
WILLS
1680: Lambertson, Henry, Talbot County, Maryland - November 24, 1680 - wife Katherine executrix and sole legatee of estate - she to care for children. (Md. Col. of Wills - Vol. 1, Pg. 104)
1702: Will of Katherine Tully, October 8, 1702 to eldest son Henry Lamberson
1/2 of the worth of the land Richard Lamberson lives on in Somerset County, Maryland. To son Richard Lamberson the remainder of the plantation where he now lives. To Sarah Lamberson(?), To son Abraham Lamberson the plantation where I now live and all the rest of my personal estate. To grandson Henry Lamberson, should my son Abraham marry with Sarah Timmons, all my personal estate to be divided between his two brothers Henry and Richard. Witness: James Taylor and William Taylor. 1782: Lamberson, Lawrance - Wife Christina - Will of John Fite 1782 - Oxford, Sussex County, New Jersey - wife Catharen Elizabeth; Sons - Peter and Leonard; Daughters- Catharen, wife of Johnnes Tetman; Christina, wife of Lawrence Lamberson; and Mary, wife of Henry Rumfiet. Executors: Son Benjamin (wife Aeltie) and Laurence Lambertson. 1791: Lamerson, Lawrence of Pennsylvania-Administrator of Will of Benjamin Van Eetta of Oxford Twp, Sussex County, New Jersey. Andrew Neigh of Penn. also an administrator(Vol 37 - Wills 1791-95)
1787: Will of Edward Joynes - June 3, 1787-Widow Esther Lamberson-negroes and remainder to her children (Vol 2 Pg. 281 (Esther was the wife of John Lamberson, Brunswick County, North Carolina - John died 1818-see will) (Another Esther Lambertson was the wife of James Lamberson, Northampton County, N.C.)
NOTE: Lawrence (wife Christina. Fite) and Lawrence (wife Bridget Van Eetta) seem to be cousins. We don't know who the father of each were - Lawrence? Conrad? Daniel? John?

Note: Where would you suppose this Conrad fits in? Knowlton was at that time in Sussex County and this congregation no longer existed after 1779-sold to the Presby. Church Whether the people of the congregation also became Presby. or whether they just dissolved and went on to some Lutheran or Reformed Church is not known.
