1860 census shows in William Lamb living with the family of his sister, Nancy J. Lamb, who had married Alfred Walters. At the time, the Walters had one child, James W. age 3 born in IL.

In 1880, Thomas Lamb, seventy-nine years old, was living in DeWitt County, Illinois, with the family of his eldest daughter, Nancy J. Lamb who had married Alfred Walters. At the time, the Walters had two children, Odell (male) age fifteen and Clara, age ten.
