Hi, My husbands great grandfather was the son of Joshua A McCutcheon. His first wife was Hannah Leeman., on 1 Nov 1827. Another is Joshua Sexton that is John Davis McCutcheon's son andI believe that Joshua A. Had a son Named Joshua born of Hannah Leeman along with Martha E. and James Monroe McCutcheon. By Jane Makija they had McClellan (my husbands great grandfather) and Mary Jane who married Samuel Morrow. I have been researching this line for over 45 years and got alot of my information from McClellan's daughter Minnie Florence McCutcheon Stidger, my husband's granny. She was a really sweet lady. I also got many of the families from she and other daughters of families. I still have many of the letters from the early 60's. I would be glad to exchange info with you I have been corresponding with many of the descendands of Joshua A. I realise that we are not as prolific as the other children od John Amis, Which was always called by the older members of our families as Amos. However I feel it is simply a matter of spelling. Ames, Amis or Amos could be spellings od the same pronounciation. In the 1830 Census Joshua is Joshua A. and the 1812 Militery record The front page could be read as Joshua A McCutcheon. I have heard the story of the Indian grandfater who rode the horse into the house and there are Lamascus on some indian rolls. I just don't know how as I have had trouble finding Lamascus anywhere in the US in the 1700's. I still keep looking. Mary J Gibson
