Hi Peg,

I don't think we're talking about the same Samuel. I found your Samuel in 1830 Fairfield County, Ohio. He must have been in Ohio in 1820 as his daughter, Elizabeth, is born about 1820 in Ohio. But the Samuel Jr. I'm talking about is listed on the 1820 census for Spencer County, Indiana so they are two different people.

It appears that you are standing in front of the same brick wall I'm standing in front of. I don't know what it is about the name Lamar that makes researching ancestors so difficult. However, we could still have Lamar ancestors in common if we are ever able to track them down. I vaguely remember reading somewhere about some Indiana Lamar's who moved to Illinois and some to Ohio. Since there weren't any names mentioned, I didn't bother to keep the info.

Maybe there is someone out there who can help us both. Thanks for responding to my posting.
