Tom, Have tried to connect with you for years and am excited to hear from you. I am aware that there were no Maryland units at the Saratoga battle. I have found a number of references to Mack Lamar in the Pennsylvania archives relating to the Pennsylvania Navy during the Revolution. One reference is Series 2, Vol 1, officers and men of Pennsylvania Navy 1775-1781, page 348. On April 1, 1778 he was transferred from the ship Convention to the Brig Viper. There are others. Don't want to make this reponse too long. But if you think we are on the same path let me know and I will give you other thoughts that I have. Thanks, Susan
