I have no idea if there is a connection between my line of Lamar's and yours, or not, but I do know that some of mine went to Arkansas - Faulkner Co., to be exact. My gg grandmother was a Lamar - her name was Mariah or Maria (I've seen both) Lamar and she married Ransom H. Brown in DeKalb Co., Alabama in 1836. They were still there in 1850, but after that they made the move to Pontotoc Co., Mississippi; however, Mariah died at some point, probably en route to Mississippi, or if she died in Pontotoc, I can't find any record of her death. I can give you names of these Lamars who went to Faulkner Co., Arkansas, if you want.
