No, I haven't had any success. I just went back to the website and I guess they are now tracking mitochondrial DNA for maternal lines, but I am not sure how that works. Logistically it seems like a nightmare to me, but maybe that's just because I don't understand it yet! And there is now an established DNA project which includes the Lakin surname (and I didn't have to start it) so I really do need to get a sample from my dad and submit it.
