William is first found when he joined the Friends, or Quakers in the Monoquesy meeting in Monocacy Hundred, in Prince George's County Maryland in 1745.
Lackey, William recrq 31-5-1745; dis 27-8-1750 for neglect to attend meetings and removed without cert.
Elizabeth having been issued a cert. by Fairfax M.M. date 8 mo North Carolina and was transferred by that M.M. to Cane Creek M.M. in 1751

About 1751 William and Elizabeth moved to Anson County, North Carolina.They bought a "plantation" of 600 acres there.
