Can you help solve a 60+ year old mystery?

I and other members of my family have spent several decades searching and researching, trying to locate a beloved, yet unknown missing relative link in our Michigan/Indiana Lake chain:

Everything we know about him:

Name: Roy Leonard Lake (Sr.)

Born: Unknown - Michigan c.1900-1930's

Marriage (1): Marjorie Jane Aumick
Knickname: "Margie"
Born: 04-22-1924 in South Bend, Indiana
Died: 08-18-1984 in Downey, California

Married: 08-18-1943, St. Joseph County, IN
(Marriage record in Book 135, Pg. 003, and
shows misspelled name as Roy "Laonard" Lake.
Divorced: ? No records found in Indiana yet

Children: Roy Leonard Lake, Jr.
Knickname: "Butch"
Born: 05-07-1945 in Mishawaka, Indiana
Died: 08-22-1974 in Norwalk, California

Marriage (2): YES - Name unknown, between 1945-1966
Children: YES - Several children, names yet unknown

Died: Sometime around 1967, possibly from some
type of cancer in Florida or Indiana.

What we "think" we know about him:

We have been told by relatives no longer living that Roy served in the military and was in Pearl Harbor and specifically was on a military airplane runway doing something with the planes when the bombs started dropping around him and his friends. He watched several of his buddies die that day and was never the same, suffering from what we now know as "Post-Traumatic Stress" syndrome.

He remarried at least once sometime after 1945 to an unknown woman, perhaps in Indiana. They went on to have several children born of this marriage and subsequently we believe they may have moved to somewhere in Florida during the 1960's, where around 1967 or so we believe he died from cancer and may or may not have been buried back in Indiana somewhere. We also have reason to believe that his subsequent wife might not have told their own children about our side of the family's existence...which may be why so little information has been forthcoming thus far in our search.

There is also a slight chance that he might have even been married before his marriage to Marjorie (possibly while he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in the USAF/military in San Antonio, Bexar County, TX back in the early 1940's) and may even have another older male child named "Roy L. Lake, Jr." from that marriage or relationship.

We have been told that he had several brothers and maybe some uncles, and that several close relatives to him may have also shared the name "Leonard" either as part of their first or middle names. We've heard rumours that perhaps a few of the Roy's male relatives in his then or recent past lineage may have had known criminal histories or negative run-ins with the law. We thought that perhaps we'd found one of his brothers named "Robert," who lived in Indiana in the late 1990's and had agreed to provide us with some information about Roy, but he sadly and unfortunately passed away before having an opportunity to share such information & Roy's family history/heritage.

What we would like to know about Roy & his family(ies):

EVERYTHING! LOL We'd like to learn what this Roy Leonard Lake was like, who his parents, siblings, wives and other children and descendants were/are so we can finally fill in this whole missing side of our own Lake family tree and solve this mystery once and for all.

Do you think you can help us end our over half-a-century search for our dearly departed yet cherished Roy Leonard Lake info. & relatives? Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide us with any new updates, info., pictures, guidance, leads, search links, or anything else useful in our search. We'd like to connect all the dots in our Lake geneaology and finally fill in this long-awaited, blank side of our Lake family tree.

With deep charity in our hearts and strong/proud Lake blood coursing through all our veins, we can't wait to discovering at long last who we are and who/where we come from. Can you help us?? If so, we'll be forever grateful in our hearts and thankful on behalf of every future Lake generation in our family yet to come!

Kindly yours in spirit & surname,
Mystery Lake
