The heir to the family bible was Thomas C Laird. Said to have been named Thomas Clingan Laird and born 19 May 1840 in Lewisburg, Union Co, Pennsylvania. Died 24 Apr 1898. Married Mary Ellen Bell in IL.
Because he moved a couple of miles east of Webster Co into Nuckolls Co, NE, he is not written up in the Webster Co, Nebraska, history which covers his four brothers, except in the list of Samuel and Elizabeth's children.
By 1880, Thomas C Laird had married and fathered a son. They still resided at Oak Creek Precinct, Webster Co, Nebraska.

By 1900, Thomas and Mary Ellen had moved across the county line to Lawrence Village, Victor Precinct, Nuckolls Co, Nebraska where Thomas was post master. There appears to have been error in the question about the number of children as the answer 3/3 was given elsewhere. After Lee, there was Lloyd, born after the cutoff date for the 1880 census. The third child was not at home by 1900. There is one I cannot identify who must have been born in the 1880s and maybe left home by 1900 if a son or married if a daughter.

By 1930, Lloyd had left Lincoln, NE, and was at Hastings (City), Adams Co, Nebraska, where he owned a home at 811 N Denver Ave. He lived about 16 miles from Lee. I have seen evidence of one child, a daughter.
