I have been researching the children of Jacob S. (G.) Laird (Minister) and wife Temperance.Jacob appears as Jacob G. Laird in the Marion and Madison Co.,Arkansas census records from 1850 until 1880 EXCEPT for 1860 where they disappear completely for that 10 year period.
Upon looking at birth and death records of grandchildren, I believe they went to Lamar Co., TX.
Their children are shown as:
William D. Laird b 1833 TN
Nelson Calune b 1835 TN
Susan Elizabeth b 1840 AR
John b 1841 AR
Angeline Arlifta b 1847 AR(shown as Arlitta on World Ancestry)
Sarah Ann b 13 Dec 1849 Madison, AR
I am especially interested in Angeline Arlifta - shown in various censuses as Angolina and even Angline. The Arlifta really got my attention when I saw Angeline R. Lifty Scott as her ancestor in your tree.
In 1870 Angeline is shown as living with her parents. Also shown are two small boys with the surname of Laird who are too young to be children of Angeline's parents (Jacob and Temperance): Hugh C C b 1867 in AR and John Floyd Laird b Apr 1870 in AR.
On the 1880 census, Angeline has married Isaac Causey, has several Causey children and also two "stepsons" listed for Isaac. They are the two boys above with last names of Laird.
On the 1900 census, states that she has born four children and three are alive.I have accounted for all four.
Although these two boys are shown on a Ancestry Tree online as being her sons, I do not believe they are.I think they belong to some sibling (cannot trace her brother John at all) or cousin and that she adopted them in later years.
I am tracing the line from one of these boys, so sure would be interested in sharing the line with relatives.
